Criteria for Scholarship for Session 2024-25

DR .K.N. MODI University has initiated a scheme of award of scholarship for promotion of talent and advancement of knowledge for the Indian and Foreign students. DR K. N. MODI University scholarships are precisely designed to suit personal needs of every student, allowing them to explore passion and while at the time pursing their academics. Grant of scholarships for higher studies nurtures human values and interest, commitment and motivation for academic pursuits among undergraduate and postgraduate students. These are taken as kind of recognition of merit and talent. University financial aid programs are set in schemes which cater for the financial welfare of students, who meet the designated criteria for scholarship reception.

  • Objectives of Scholarship program

The objectives of the Scholarship Programme are enumerated below –

  • To motivate meritorious and talented students by providing them with an opportunity to pursue their studies with complete devotion
  • To help students in achieving a successful personal and professional life
  • To impart knowledge and life skills by providing opportunities to meritorious and talented students to carry on their academic pursuits.

  • Scholarship Policy - Rules and Guidelines

University considers award of scholarship based on merit and reservation policy of the government of India applicable to the admitted students. The policy considers award of scholarship toward tuition fee to a meritorious student in each discipline per academic year. The selection procedure involves application by the meritorious students and consideration of partial tuition waiver to deserving students in the following categories

The scholarship committee instituted by the University shall be authorized to examine the application and recommend eligible candidate names for the award of scholarship. The Vice Chancellor shall be the final authority to approve the award of the scholarship.

  • Scholarship Mechanism

The Scholarship Committee of DR. K. N. MODI University is assigned the functions of policy

formulation, selection scheme, implementation and monitoring of the programme.

The scholarship award is announced every year during the admission season, and the last

month for submission of the filled application form is September of every year.

The awardees are selected on merit cum need basis. The commitment, moral behavior

and attitudes of students are basic requirements for selection. Consideration is also given

to the person coming from backward regions. Scholarship programme can be discussed

during tele-calling, counselling and in seminars for effective visibility.

6. Scholarship to the Wards of DR. K. N. MODI University

Scholarship up to 25% of the 1st Semester tuition Fee (limiting to maximum of Rs. 25,000) will be provided to the First Child only. However, if the first child is already getting scholarship on the basis of Merit, the benefit shall be passed on to the second child, if applicable.

7. Scholarship for  Siblings 

    Scholarship up to 10% of Semester tuition Fee or maximum Rs. 3000 whichever is less . 

8. Scholarship for the Alumni of DR.K. N. MODI Educational Institutions

      A Student who is an Alumnus of any of the DR. K. N.MODI Educational Institutions (Schools or University), shall be eligible for 25% of the 1st Semester tuition Fee as scholarship during admission to the programs offered at DR. K.N. MODI University

9. Beti Bachao Beti Padhao

 Scholarship of up to 10% of Semester tuition Fee or maximum Rs. 5000 whichever is lower, shall be available to all Girl candidates in all the UG & PG Programs 

 

10. CLAT-2024 Scholarship

Scholarship to students seeking admission for LLB programs on the basis of their

       11. Scholarship for wards of Defence personnel

Scholarship of up to 10% of Semester tuition Fee (limiting to maximum of Rs. 3000/semester) shall be available to the candidate.

     12. Scholarship for outstanding achievers in sports category

Scholarship of 50% Semester Fee will be available to outstanding achievers in sports field.

The  candidate seeking admission shall be required to produce relevant documents of proof of his/her participation and performance.

The scholarship under this category shall be given for the first semester and its continuation shall be decided by a committee constituted by the Competent Authority of

the University.

     

The number of Merit Scholarship will be as under:

The students securing SGPA 8.5 and above only will be eligible for award of Scholarship and the awardees will be selected from these category of students.

A. Procedure for Grant continuation of Scholarship

The Merit Scholarship will be automatically granted on declaration of the results by the Controller of Examinations. The letters to this effect will be issued to all concerned by the Registrar on approval of the Vice chancellor and Chancellor, after declaration of results.

B. General Conditions

i. The maximum scholarship numbers are

a) Top three for a batch strength of 41 and above

b) Top two for a batch strength of 21 to 40

c) Top one for batch strength is 10-20

ii. If at the time of determining the number of scholarship it is observed that more than one student has a tie in a particular rank / position (i.e. the same percentage/marks/SGPA), the scholarship amount admissible will be equally shared among all such students having same rank.

Scenario 1: If three students score equal marks and secured 1st position, the scholarship amount year marked for positions 1, 2 and 3 will be added and distributed among the three. No 2nd and 3rd position will be provided.

Scenario 2: If two students secured 1st position and one student secured 2nd position, in this case the average of amount year marked for 1st and 2nd position will be distributed among the two & next student is treated as the position of 3rd. So, summing up the policy we have sanctioned amount to be distributed among the candidates equally in case of more than 3 eligible candidates according to above scenario as explained.

 Similarly, the logic will be extended for others possible scenario.

N.B. The amount of scholarship will vary according to the batch size of a particular programme.

iii. Students not fulfilling required percentage of attendance in the classes will not be eligible for award of any Scholarship.

iv. Students having proven disciplinary charges will not be eligible for award of any Scholarship.

 v. Students having backlog in any paper in any Semester will not be eligible for award of any Scholarship.

vi. The number of the students in a programme to be considered for granting scholarship under various categories will be number of students registered at the beginning of the year. vii. If any student is eligible / entitled for more than one scholarship / concession, he/ she has to make a choice for any one only.

viii. Is a student has decided to forego the Merit Scholarship, same will not be offered to next in merit.

13. SC/ST/OBC (Non-creamy layer) Scholarship 

The main objective of SC/ST/OBC (Non-creamy layer) Scholarship to all those students who belong to a scheduled caste or scheduled tribe or Other Backward Classes (Non-creamy Layer) and are not able to finance their education due to their financial condition. Students of scheduled caste or scheduled tribe or other backward classes (Non-creamy Layer) will get financial assistance on the basis of their excellent academic record.  They have to submit their domicile certificate and annual family income certificate supporting their inability to pay the University tuition and other fees along with the application form.

a)  Certificate of Scheduled Caste or Scheduled Tribe or Other Backward Classes (Non-creamy layer) issued by an authority not less than Deputy Commissioner or Collector of the District

14. Differently-abled Scholarship

The objective of the Scheme is to provide financial assistance to the differently-abled students to enable them to pursue course of their choice and get employed/self-employed. Differently-abled students face several barriers physical, financial, psychological, mental in pursuing studies and living with dignity. At times such students are deprived of harnessing their latent skills and thereby miss the opportunity to earn their livelihood and find a dignified place for themselves in the society. This scheme envisages encouraging differently-abled students by providing scholarships and other assistance to pursue professional or technical courses and various skill development courses for their empowerment.

a)  A student with disability having not less than 40% disability certified by a competent medical authority of her/his home state

b) She/he must score minimum 50% marks (equivalent CGPA) in the qualifying examination

15. Rajasthan Domicile Scholarship:

Scholarship of up to 10% of Semester tuition Fee or maximum Rs. 5000 whichever is less shall be provided to all domicile candidates of Rajasthan.

Document to be submitted: Birth Certificate/Adahhar Card/Government Domicile certificate to accept as domicile.

 

General Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility to qualify for scholarship varies on the nature of scholarship which could be merit, merit cum means, reservation, government eligibility criteria and many more. The guidelines for eligibility as decided by the committee and approved by the Vice Chancellor will be communicated to the student through an official email. While awarding the scholarship, several other indicators are also considered that may include previous academic scholarship award, moral behaviour, attitude, excellence in extracurricular activities, and financial hardship of meritorious candidates as identified in the application form. All eligible students are required to submit the university application form well within the stipulated time. The selection committee may request for additional information and documents as deemed appropriate. This may include scholarly activities of the applicant like participation in various activities which are pointers towards academic excellence. However recommendations by competent authorities may also be considered in a few deserving cases. It is the responsibility of the student to submit all documents along with application form for consideration. Incomplete or inadequate information will render the application rejected.

  • Terms and Conditions for the Scholarship
  • Candidate can avail a maximum of one Scholarship at a time.
  • Scholarship to students under all categories shall be limited to maximum 10% of the sanctioned intake for the program of admission excluding scholarships to girls.
  • Candidates enrolled in Ph.D. Programs are not eligible for the above scholarships
  • Scholarship as stated above is subject to verification and authentication of the information, certificates and documents as required by the University.In case, an applicant is eligible for Scholarship as stated above as well as other Scholarship / Financial aid /monetary benefit scheme or policy of DR. K.N. MODI University then he / she has to opt for only one scholarship scheme of his/her choice.
  • Scholarship as stated above is offered at the time of admissions only and applicant has to apply for the same at the time of filling Application for Admissions or before the date prescribed by the University.
  • Scholarship as mentioned above is applicable on Course tuition fee as prescribed for a term/semester under the Course details in the Prospectus for the concerned year. The benefit of Scholarship will not be applicable in case of fee for various other requirements/facilities like Hostel fee/Backlog/re-appear/examination fee / admission fee etc.
  • Benefit of Scholarship is for the normal duration of the Course. However, if a student takes more than normal duration to pass the Course, he will not be entitled for these benefits for duration in excess of normal duration.
  • If at any stage, it is found that an applicant has concealed, suppressed, distorted any information/fact(s) which would have rendered him ineligible for admission and/or ineligible for benefit of Scholarship or applicant has been admitted and/or Scholarship has been awarded by default by the University, then the admission and/or Scholarship will stand cancelled.
  • In addition to other terms and conditions as prescribed from time to time, only those students will be eligible for Scholarship in subsequent terms/years:
  • Against whom No Disciplinary action has been initiated or taken during their stay at DR. K. N.MODI University.
  • The above said Scholarships would be applicable on all the courses .
  • The duly filled application form for admission by applicant should be submitted to the university by last date of admissions. However, it is advised that applications are submitted earlier to avoid missing this opportunity due to filling up of seats.
  • Final Selections will be made subject to completion of all documentation and availability of seats in Course for which admission is sought by candidate, subject to Terms & Conditions applicable on the date of admission.
  • Final decision regarding admissibility will be taken by the University and cannot be claimed as a matter of right by any eligible applicant.
  • The decision of the competent authority of the University shall be final and binding on all concerned.
